The problem with touring on a motorcycle if the trip will involve several days or even a long weekend is the amount of gear that one would like to take for comfort sake. Riding double means twice the stuff that makes life a little more enjoyable.
One must pack in such a way that when using soft luggage or bags as a backrest, hard items are not making contact with the rider or passenger’s back. Removing these items during short stops means having to reposition items in the bag or luggage each time. Hard luggage is a poor excuse for a back rest.
